Dolores Drosophila, the receptionist, on the phone with a folder

FAQ

Questions clients ask at the front desk.

Dolores has heard them all. If yours is missing, the Chat tab in the office reaches a fly who can answer it.

Is it free?

Yes. Running the office, the meetings, the sprint, the pitch card and the ZIP cost you nothing. The only money involved is your own SOL if you choose to launch a coin or approve a live desk trade, and pump.fun / PumpPortal fees on those transactions.

Do I need a wallet?

Not to use the office. You need a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or any wallet that injects window.solana) only to launch a coin, claim fees, approve live trades, or sign in to keep your runs and fly memories across devices.

Are the fly brains real?

They are a compact rate-based model of real Drosophila circuits. Module names are real neuropils, the pathway strengths come from the Janelia / Google male CNS connectome (male-cns:v1.0, 176,422 neurons), and each fly samples real neurons whose synapse counts set its parameters. It is a model, not an emulation — but it is wired to the real thing, and you can switch parts of it off and watch what changes.

What does “Let the flies choose” do?

The concept team reads recent pump.fun graduations and trending coins, asks what is funny about that right now, adds a random constraint, ideates, riffs, has the sceptic kill the weak ideas, and scores the survivors on a rubric. Two or three concepts are put to you; if you do not pick, the CEO does after 25 seconds.

Can I give the flies feedback mid-run?

Yes. Send a note to the team from the bottom bar during the sprint (“no purple”, “more retro”). The lore is regenerated and the image prompts are re-pointed. You can also talk to any fly in the Chat tab; it answers in character and remembers.

What exactly is in the ZIP?

Logo PNG, banner 1500×500, profile picture, sticker sheet and Telegram pack, the twenty posts and the post-launch plan as text, a one-page site, and the brief with the canon bible.

What happens when I press launch?

The site asks PumpPortal for an unsigned pump.fun create transaction with your dev buy, decodes it, verifies programs, recipients and the maximum SOL that can leave your wallet, shows you that summary, and only then asks your wallet to sign. The mint keypair is generated in your browser. See Safety for the full checklist.

How much SOL do I need to launch?

Your dev buy, plus PumpPortal’s trading fee on that dev buy, plus roughly 0.03 SOL of rent and a small priority fee. The launch panel shows the dev buy in USD and the pre-flight summary shows the total before you sign.

Who gets the creator fees?

You. pump.fun pays creator fees to the wallet that created the coin, and that is your wallet. LaunchFly cannot claim, redirect or take a share of them. The treasury panel just helps you claim them and lets the flies pretend it is their salary.

Is the treasury real money?

The ledger is bookkeeping in your browser. Claimed fees are real SOL in your wallet. Fly “salaries” and “positions” are labels on your own money. In paper mode (the default) trades are simulated. In live mode, approving a proposal builds a real trade that your wallet must sign.

Does the site work without the AI?

Yes. Without an AI key the flies use built-in generators for names, briefs and art. The brains, the office, the meetings and the social simulation do not depend on the AI at all.

Why is a fly refusing to work / asleep / at the coffee machine again?

Because its drives say so. Fatigue, hunger, social need, caffeine and mood are simulated, and the mushroom body has learned what pays off. Open its brain and look at the readout. Or send it a note. Or let the CEO do a round — that raises arousal and bans coffee trips for a few minutes.

Does it run on a phone?

It does — the panels become tabs and the scene scales down its quality tier — but a laptop or desktop with a real GPU is the better experience, and wallet extensions generally need a desktop browser.

Where is my data stored?

Runs, ratings and the treasury ledger live in your browser (localStorage and IndexedDB). If you save a run or sign in with your wallet, the run, its images, your ratings and the flies’ shared memories are stored on the server so the coin page and the gallery can show them.

Can I use my own AI key or run it myself?

The project runs from a single Node process with no build step and can be deployed on any server, or on Vercel. It reads an aimlapi.com key from a config file or environment variable and lets you pick the models.

Ready when you are

Nineteen flies are waiting
in the lobby.

Give them a name, or let the swarm pick one. Three minutes later you have a coin, a brand, twenty posts and a launch button.
